Affordable (Budget Friendly) Sunblock for Acne-Prone Skin

0

There are numerous brands, advertisements, and promotions that have been promoting specific products, particularly sunblocks, for acne-prone skin

Having acne-prone skin means you have to be careful about the products you use for your face or body. You don't just buy it because someone said so, but it's definitely a must to do research before purchasing any products.

Sunblock is one of them; other people hate it, as some formulas are thick, oily, and even white cast [Which I also do not like]

In the Philippines, it is not recommended to wear a sunblock that has a white cast, especially with morena skin, but if you have a "tisay" or pearly white skin, then you may go ahead and do so. Additionally, using a thick type of sunblock can make your skin more oily and heavy due to the weather conditions.

Here are the products that I'd like to recommend, tried and tested:

1. Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

  • SPF 50+ PA++++ maximum UV Protection

  •  Water and sweat resistant

  •  light skin feeling

  •  non-comedogenic

  •  non-sticky & no white cast

 Experience: It takes a while to absorb and feels light but watery. I always use a fan to help it dry; otherwise, it takes longer.

2. Celeteque Skin Defense Brightening Silky Sun Cream

  • Contains Niacinamide and Vitamin C (perfect for protecting your skin)

  •  SPF 60 PA++++

  •  non-comedogenic

  •  little to no white cast, when my skin feels red or looks red, a bit of white cast is showing when I use this

  •  non-greasy

Experience: I'm currently using this product, recommended by my colleague. It has a bit of white cast, so be careful not to overapply your sunscreen with this. My skin is oily, but this sunblock somehow makes it glow without looking greasy.

3. Camou Super Lightweight Sunscreen Serum SPF 50 PA++++ Niacinamide Vitamin C Centella Asiatica Extract Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB Anti Blue Light Fragrance Free Oil Control

  • This is a brand for men, but the key ingredients are great for acne prone or oily skin

 Experience: Not recommended for dry or flaky skin, with no white cast.

 4. Dr. Sensitive Super Sunscreen for Face and Body SPF50 50ml

  • SPF 50+ PA++++ Super Sunscreen offers broad spectrum SPF 50+ protection to shield skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays

  •   lightweight and non-greasy formula has an invisible matte finish, and leaves no white cast

  •  Niacinamide, Glutathione, Allantoin, Vitamins C and E

 Experience: Light feel, not recommended for flaky or dry skin. Does not leave whitecast

 5. LUXE ORGANIX 5in1 UV Pro Whitening Serum Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++

  • SPF 47+++ for maximum protection from the sun

  •  Niacinamide, Adenosine,  Alpha Melight
  •  water and sweat resistant
  •   lightweight, non-sticky and non-greasy sunscreen
  •  has a bit of a whitecast

Experience: Has a slight white cast, quite thick, and I'm unsure why they describe it as lightweight.

Shopping for sunscreen for acne-prone skin in the Philippines can feel like a daunting task, especially if you are on a budget, but it doesn't have to be.

By understanding your skin's unique needs and doing a little research, you can find a product that provides essential protection without causing breakouts or leaving an unsightly white cast.

Remember, the best sunscreen is one you'll actually want to wear every day.
