PRODUCT REVIEW: BCP Tretinoin + Hydroquinone

0

This product has honestly been my holy grail for the past 3 years. While I still use other skincare products, nothing has helped me fade dark spots, lighten acne marks, and resurface my skin over time the way BCP Tretinoin + Hydroquinone has.

Hydroquinone + Tretinoin 2% 0.025% Lotion 120ml

The formula comes in different strengths, ranging from 0.005% to 0.025% (I personally use 0.025%).

I started with the lowest strength first, then gradually worked my way up to a higher percentage. This really helped my skin adjust to the peeling and resurfacing effect without too much irritation.

Before you try this treatment, let me share some honest pros and cons based on my 3-year experience:

PROS

CONS

  • Some people experience a purge phase (temporary breakouts) when starting tretinoin + hydroquinone. Personally, I didn’t go through this, but it’s important to be patient and let the product work as your skin adjusts.

  • The peeling effect really does help resurface skin, but it makes makeup tricky. My foundation and powder often looked flaky no matter what primer I used. If I had a special event, I had to stop applying the product for 2 days beforehand so my makeup would sit better.

  • Sun sensitivity is a big concern. Since tretinoin and hydroquinone thin and resurface your skin, you absolutely need to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning (and reapply every 3–4 hours if you’re outdoors). If not, instead of glowing skin, you risk premature fine lines, wrinkles, or even darker spots.

It took 6 months to see the entire result. As for my routine:

And that's it! Hope this product review helps!
