Food Recipe [Healthy Meal Ideas]: Easy Honey Soy Garlic Marinade for Chicken

0

At times, I simply want to prepare a dish that is uncomplicated yet full of flavor, like the one that only needs a few ingredients to fill your house with great smell. This Honey Soy Garlic Marinade is the very thing.

A close-up photo of a honey soy garlic marinade in a clear bowl, with minced garlic floating in a glossy, dark brown sauce.

I really cannot claim it as my own since it is not an original recipe of mine (I truly cannot remember the name of the original author 😅), but I have been preparing it for a long time, and it always turns out delicious. It is amazing for chicken, whether grilled, baked, or even pan-seared.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until smooth.

  2. Add your chicken (breast, thigh, or wings, your choice!) and let it marinate for 1 to 4 hours in the fridge.

  3. You can then grill, pan-fry, or bake it. The longer it marinates, the more flavorful it gets!

Extra:

In case you desire a slightly thicker sauce, you may add 1/2 tsp of cornstarch to the dish prior to cooking. It works as a better adhesive for the sauce on the chicken.

My usual deal with that is steamed rice and some stir-fried vegetables. The harmony of sweet, salty, and garlicky flavors strikes the palate perfectly. This is the kind of dish, however, that is so easy to change around that it lets you reduce the amount of honey if you want it less sweet or put in chili flakes for a touch of heat!
